Wrench turners who
fell into business
We're wrench turners who happened to fall into business. We've made plenty of mistakes and we're guaranteed to make more — but we hold to the same values on every job: be honest, do the right thing, and the Lord will take care of the rest.
It started with a neighbour's meter leak
In 2017 Glen had just moved his family into a Boerne neighbourhood. Someone a few houses down posted on Nextdoor about a massive leak at her meter, and Glen — on a day off, with no intention of starting anything — went and fixed it.
She thanked him publicly. Then she shared his phone number with the whole neighbourhood. The calls never stopped.
Before long he was helping more families on his days off than he was working at his 9-to-5, and the family finally talked him into making it official. Pulliam Plumbing has been serving the Hill Country ever since — still out of Boerne, still answering the phone himself.
Why we stayed small on purpose
It would be easy to hire a fleet, spread across three counties and let a dispatcher decide who shows up at your door. We haven't, because the thing people actually tell their neighbours about isn't the size of the company — it's that the guy who quoted the job is the guy who did it.
So we cover a region we genuinely know: its limestone water, its shifting clay, its handful of hard freezes. And the name on the truck belongs to somebody who will be standing in your garage.
Be honest, do the right thing, and the Lord will take care of the rest.
The values every Pulliam job runs onThat’s still how it works today.
You book, an owner shows up, and you get a straight answer and a price before anything happens. Estimates are free.
Four things that don't move, job to job
We've made mistakes and we'll make more. These are the things we don't get wrong twice.
Be honest, even when it costs us
If a repair will do the job, we'll say so — and lose the sale on the replacement. That's the trade, and we'd make it every time.
No surprises on the invoice
The quote comes before the work. If something under the house changes the picture, you hear it before we act on it.
Treat the house like our own
Floors covered, site cleaned, old parts hauled off. Six kids between the two of us — we know what a mess costs somebody.
Answer the phone in Boerne
You get somebody local who knows the crew and the ground, not a script read three states away. It's slower for us and better for you, which is roughly the whole business model.
Who's behind every job
Two brothers, one shop, and a small crew we trained ourselves. Whoever pulls into your driveway is a Pulliam tech in a Pulliam truck — and the two of us answer for every job either way.
Glen has been turning wrenches since 2001, working residential and commercial jobs for outfits big and small before striking out on his own. The company itself started by accident: in 2017, newly moved into a Boerne neighborhood, Glen answered a neighbor's plea on Nextdoor about a massive meter leak a few houses down. When she thanked him publicly — and shared his phone number with the whole neighborhood — the calls never stopped. Before long he was helping more families on his days off than at his 9-to-5, and the family finally talked him into making it official. He's been serving the Hill Country ever since.
Glen is a father of six, and when he's not under a house you'll find him at church, on his motorcycle, on the jujitsu mat, in a deer blind, or tending his bees.
Chris is Glen's younger brother — which means he's been following Glen around since diapers, and officially since 2005, when the two did trim installs on new homes as teenagers. From there Chris served in the military, then spent ten years in the oil field. In 2019, Glen asked him to help run some jobs, and he never left. Today Chris runs the business side of the shop — and still isn't afraid to pick up a wrench.
Off the clock he's playing guitar, doing just about anything outdoors, and spending time with family.
Twenty-plus years, abbreviated
Nobody sets out to start a plumbing company by answering a Nextdoor post. Here's how it actually went.
-
2001
Glen picks up the trade
Residential and commercial work for outfits big and small — the years that turn a person into a plumber rather than someone who owns tools.
-
2005
Two brothers, trim installs, new homes
Chris officially joins Glen on the job for the first time, as teenagers doing trim installs on new construction.
-
The years after
Chris serves, then heads to the oil field
Military service, then ten years in the oil patch — the schooling that makes someone unbothered by a hard day and a long drive.
-
2017
A meter leak, a Nextdoor post, a phone number shared
Glen fixes a neighbour's meter leak on a day off. She thanks him publicly and passes his number to the whole neighbourhood. The calls never stop.
-
2018
Pulliam Plumbing becomes official
More families served on days off than at the 9-to-5. The family talks Glen into making it a real business, based in Boerne.
-
2019
Chris comes on to run some jobs — and never leaves
He takes over the business side of the shop, and still isn't afraid to pick up a wrench when the day calls for it.

We work one region, and we know it.
Pulliam Plumbing works this exact water, this exact ground, this exact weather — every day, not occasionally.
-
This is Hill Country water.
Limestone aquifers feed nearly every home around Boerne — which means hard water, scale buildup, and water heaters working harder than they should.
-
This is Hill Country ground.
Expansive clay soil shifts with every dry spell and every storm — the same movement that stresses pipe joints in older Boerne homes.
-
This is Hill Country weather.
A handful of hard freezes every winter, exactly the kind that catch unprotected pipes off guard.
