Two tune-ups a year covers most of it — one before the summer load, one before the first hard freeze. It is a small job that pays for itself in a climate where watering is not optional.

Summer load and winter freeze, every year
Hill Country irrigation gets it from both ends. Through summer the system runs hard in real heat, which is when coverage gaps and inefficiency cost the most. Then a handful of hard freezes arrive in winter and go after anything above ground — heads, valves and the backflow assembly in particular.
That is why we push the twice-yearly rhythm rather than a single annual visit. Catching a cracked lateral in spring saves a summer of waste; catching an exposed component in autumn saves a freeze repair.
