Plumber in
Comfort, TX
Sixteen miles north-west of our shop, where I-10 meets US-87. Comfort was founded in 1854 and its downtown holds well over a hundred nineteenth-century structures — which makes it, by some distance, the oldest plumbing we work on.
What we actually see in Comfort
Older houses are not harder to work on — they are just less predictable, and they reward a plumber who has met that generation of pipe before.
Original supply lines still in service
Decades of hard water and ground movement, in materials nobody would install today. They can be sound, and they can be one repair from a repipe conversation.
Layers of previous work
Old houses accumulate fixes. Part of the job here is working out what is original, what was added, and what somebody bodged decades ago.
The same limestone water
With considerably longer to have done its work on the inside of the pipework.
Distance keeps others away
Which is exactly why being sixteen miles up the interstate rather than fifty down it is worth something.
A town founded in 1854 has plumbing to match
Comfort was founded on 3 September 1854 by German immigrants, and its historic district is described as possibly one of the best-preserved nineteenth-century business districts in Texas — well over a hundred structures, seven of them designed by the architect Alfred Giles.
Plumbing arrived in those buildings long after they were built, and has been added to ever since. What that produces is houses carrying several distinct generations of pipe in the same wall: an original run, a mid-century upgrade, and something a previous owner put in during the eighties. All three can be sound. All three can be one repair away from a bigger conversation.
Working on that requires patience more than anything else. You cannot assume what is behind a wall in a building that predates indoor plumbing by fifty years, and guessing gets expensive fast when the wall is original.

Every service, in Comfort
All of our services are available in Comfort. On older properties we are more likely to recommend diagnosis before a quote, simply because what is behind the wall in a building of that age is genuinely less predictable than in a build from 2015.
Every job is quoted up front and run under Texas Master Plumber License M-38925. Estimates are free, and emergency calls are taken nights and weekends.
Comfort, TX
Old pipe deserves an honest conversation
The temptation with an old house is to sell a repipe on sight. The temptation in the other direction is to patch it forever and take the repeat business. Neither is straight with the customer.
What we do instead is tell you what we actually found, whether the run in question is sound or failing, and whether the repair in front of you is the end of it or the first of several. Then you decide with real information.
- Aging and failing supply line repair
- Honest repair-versus-repipe assessments
- Careful access in buildings with original finishes
- Water heaters — repair, replacement and tankless
- Drain and sewer lines in older properties
- Emergency response nights and weekends
Getting to Comfort
Comfort is a straight sixteen-mile run north-west up I-10 from the shop. A company coming out of San Antonio is looking at something closer to fifty, and on the day a line has let go that gap is the entire difference.
Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm, and emergency calls are taken nights and weekends. Every job is quoted before we start and estimates are free.

We come out of Boerne
32882 I-10 — which is why Comfort gets a truck rather than an apology.
Yes. It is roughly sixteen miles north-west of our Boerne shop on I-10, and it is on our regular routes.
Not automatically. Old pipe can be sound and it can be failing, and the honest answer depends on what we find rather than on the year the house was built.
Yes. Comfort has plenty of properties with original supply lines still in service, and that generation of pipe and fittings is something we deal with regularly.
We locate faults before opening anything, specifically so access can be as small and deliberate as possible. In a building with original plaster or trim that is worth far more than saving ten minutes.
For distance alone, usually yes. We are sixteen miles up the interstate rather than closer to fifty, which matters most on the day something has actually let go.
